Virginia Beach, Va. – Three dogs were seized by officers in Virginia Beach after being found in inadequate conditions, police tell NewsChannel 3.

On Tuesday June 9, 2015, Animal Control responded to assist police officers in the 4400 block of Ocean View Avenue in Virginia Beach.

Animal Enforcement officers found three dogs that were being kept in inadequate conditions, according to police. The owner refused at the time to remove the dogs from their current conditions, and at that time, the three dogs were seized by Animal Enforcement officers.

The owner was issued a show-cause (petition hearing notification) and three criminal charges for inadequate care, which is a class 4 misdemeanor, police say.

The owner has been identified as Rita P. Cheche.
