Chesapeake, Va. – On Wednesday, June 3, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of Western Branch Boulevard for an armed robbery.

Witnesses told police that a black male entered the Wells Fargo bank and walked up to a teller. He then handed the teller a handwritten note and implied a gun. The teller handed the suspect an undetermined amount of currency, then the suspect exited the front doors, police say. The suspect then possibly got into the passenger side of a red station wagon or small SUV, police tell NewsChannel 3.

No one inside the business was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a 45-50 year-old black male, about 5’6, ‘regular’ build, clean shaven, wearing dark pants, gray sweatshirt, gold sunglasses, and a dark blue cap.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers are never asked to give their name or are required to testify in court.
