Norfolk, Va. – Bissette Construction Corp. will begin construction on the Military Highway Feeder Road project this month.

The project will provide pedestrian connectivity from Military Highway to the Tide Light Rail Military Highway station located on Curlew Drive.

Sidewalk improvements will be made to the north side of the Military Highway feeder road from the location of the former Grate Steak Restaurant to the entrance of Poplar Hall Park. Due to the proximity of the proposed sidewalk to the existing drainage canal, a retaining wall system will be constructed adjacent to the sidewalk to avoid impact to the canal.

The project will cost approximately $670,000. The funding will be shared equally by the City of Norfolk and by the Virginia Department of Transportation through its Revenue Sharing Program.
