Virginia Beach, Va.- College Beach Week 2015 is a little more than a week away, and many Oceanfront businesses are preparing for the worst.

"I might have to hire a cop to stand in front of our store because if they get reckless I am going to need to help getting people out of my store," said Ethan Fogle of Beachwear.

In previous years, Virginia Beach Police were called to stabbings, shootings and fights during Beach Week. Which is why many businesses and residents are confused to see local bars and hotels linking up with websites that offer cheap rooms and party packages for the weekend.

Other businesses that work with promoters who make the websites say they have only had positive experiences with those who sign-up online. Social media posts are already beginning to surface which advertise house parties that go into the early morning hours and promote heavy drinking. Virginia Beach Police say they are monitoring all social media platforms for these types of posts so they can stay on top of all the activities going on during Beach Week.
