Hampton IHOP robbed by man with a gun

Hampton, Va. – The IHOP in the 1000 block of West Mercury Boulevard was robbed by a man with a gun early Tuesday morning, according to Hampton Police.

Officers responded to the restaurant at 4:47 a.m. in reference to the robbery complaint.

The investigation revealed the man entered the business, displayed a gun and demanded money.  After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man fled on foot.

No one was injured.

The man is described as a black male, 5’7-5’9 and 20 to 30 years-of-age. He was last seen wearing black shorts with black leggings, black shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt and gloves. He also concealed his identity by using a dark colored bandana to cover his face.
