Chesapeake, Va. - Two women found dead inside their Battery Park Road home last week were shot to death.

The medical examiner's office confirmed the new information Tuesday.  One of the women, Denise Perdue, 57, was shot in the back.  The other woman, Laurel Sanchez, 62, was shot in the head.

Both cases are being investigating as homicides.

Search warrants recently filed in Chesapeake Circuit Court also contain new information.  One search warrant says it was a concerned citizen who found one of the women inside with what appeared to be blood all around her.

It also lists what officers seized from the home including bullets, a knife, cellphones and bank receipts.

Based on new information from the autopsies, police later went back to the home to search it a second time which is when they found another bullet.

It's still unclear what led to their deaths.  Some neighbors have told NewsChannel 3 the news came as a complete shock; they'd often see the women walking their dogs together around the neighborhood.

But others said they believe there was drug activity going on at the house.

Police have not confirmed that but did say they've been called to the house ten times in the past five years.

The women also have a history of drug charges from the 90s in Florida.

Police say they still do not have a suspect or motive but do believe the women were targeted.
