Arrest made for death of pedestrian in Accomack County

Accomack County, Va. – A person has been arrested for hitting and killing a pedestrian on Route 13 in Accomack County on Tuesday morning.

The victim’s body was found laying in the median early Tuesday morning.

An investigation revealed that around 3:00 a.m., a 2001 Vanhoool charter bus was traveling southbound on Route 13 when the driver hit the victim, identified as 66-year-old Brice Sauver, while he was attempting to cross the road.

The driver, identified as 36-year-old Jihua Chen of Flushing, New York, stopped the bus and made a quick search around the immediate area of the bus before leaving the scene.

During the investigation, Chen was located and brought back to Accomack County and placed under arrest for “Duty of driver to stop, etc., in event of accident involving injury or death or damage to attended property; penalty.”

Chen received a $15,000.00 secured bond.
