Students get VIPIReady by participating in Virginia Statewide Tornado Drill

Norfolk, Va. - The 2015 Virginia Statewide Tornado Drill was held Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m.

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management sets a date for the drill each year in order to promote readiness in the event of a tornado emergency.

NewsChannel 3 Chief Meteorologist Patrick Rockey went to Ingleside Elementary in Norfolk on Tuesday morning for the drill.

Approximately 900,000 Virginians were expected to participate.
