UPDATE: Launch of three suborbital rockets from Wallops Island delayed

UPDATE: Monday morning’s launch of three Terrier-Oriole suborbital rockets for the Department of Defense at Wallops Island has been postponed. The new launch date is Feb. 24 between 12:30 and 4:30 a.m. Back-up launch dates are Feb. 25 through 27.

Wallops Island, Va. – Three Terrier-Oriole suborbital rockets are scheduled to launch from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility early Monday morning for the Department of Defense.

The rockets are scheduled to launch within a one-minute period between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.

The back-up launch dates are Feb. 24 through 27.

At the request of Defense Dept. project managers, no real-time launch status updates will be available from Wallops. The launch will not be shown live on the Internet and no launch status updates be provided on social media once the countdown begins.

The NASA Visitor Center at Wallops will not be open for viewing the launch, but the launches may be visible in the Chesapeake Bay region.
