UPDATE: The level one wind restriction for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel has been lifted.
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is currently operating on a Level 1 wind restriction.
The means there are wind speeds of 40 miles per hour.
The following types of vehicles are not allowed to cross the bridge during the restriction: large pick-up campers, camper trailers, house trailers, anything being towed and vehicles with any exterior cargo.
Complimentary District-operated wind vans will be provided to assist in transporting exterior cargo that would otherwise restrict passenger cars and pickups.
