York Co., Va. – A man has been charged with child neglect after authorities say he was found driving a backhoe with several young children inside of it.

On November 16, 2014 at 2:08 p.m., 39-year-old Bruno Antonio was seen driving a backhoe on Wolf Trap Road near Chrisman
Creek Park.

Antonio had four young children in the bucket of the backhoe and a toddler in the seat, according to Lt. Dennis Ivey with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office. The children were ages seven, eight, and three years old.

Antonio was issued a summons on scene for reckless driving and driving on a suspended license, Lt. Ivey says.

The children do not belong to him, NewsChannel 3 has learned; they were returned to their parents.

It was later determined that the Commonwealth’s Attorney recommended a charge of child neglect.

Bruno Antonio was later arrested at his home in the 1200 block of Wolf Trap Road.
