PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A daycare worker in Florida has been accused of intentionally kicking a toddler while the child was sleeping.

The 15-month-old girl was in the care of Linda Klem, 49, at Kids Stop and Play Daycare when the incident happened on Saturday, WFLA reported.

The child’s mother told police that when she picked up her child, the toddler had an abrasion under her eye and on the side of her face. Surveillance video obtained by police showed Klem intentionally kicking the girl on the top of her head while she was sleeping and dragging her foot over the left side of the child’s face.

The girl woke up and started crying. About 10 minutes later, the girl fell asleep again and Klem apparently kicked the girl on the buttocks.

Klem denied kicking the child in the head and had no explanation for kicking her backside. She is charged with child abuse and was released on $5,000 bond.
