Hampton, Va. - One man was killed and a teen was wounded in a shooting in the parking lot of Kelly's Tavern in Hampton Friday night.

Police received a call of shots fired in the parking lot at 1900 Coliseum Drive at 10:58pm.

While investigating, they learned the two shooting victims were at Sentara CarePlex, also on Coliseum Drive.

One of those victims, 20-year-old Jamar Thomas of Hampton, was pronounced dead upon his arrival at this hospital. The other victim, a 17-year-old Newport News male, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed both victims were in the parking lot of the restaurant when they were shot.

There is no word on suspects at this time.

Thomas' family members are now looking for answers as to what happened.

"I just wanna know who did that to my brother. I just wanna know what happened," says his sister Courtney Sweetenburg. "It's hard, especially for me and my mom, because it was just us three -- now it's just us two."
