UPDATE: Reward offer increased for information on Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head arson fires

Kill Devil Hills, NC - Kill Devil Hills Police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed several pieces of equipment at a storage building.

The fire occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night at a building used by Albemarle Landscaping, located at 208 W. Fresh Pond Drive.

The building is used to store equipment and park vehicles. Two vehicles and a chipper were destroyed in the fire.

According to KDH Police, the company suffered another loss due to suspected arson on November 21st when several of the company's work vehicles were set on fire in Nags Head.

At this time, the State Bureau of Investigations has been called to assist both the Kill Devil Hills Police and the Nags Head Police on the investigation.

Additionally, an Albemarle Landscaping billboard in Currituck was vandalized, as well as property belonging to the company in Kitty Hawk.

The Dare Community Crime Line has increased the reward offer for information about the arson cases. The reward is now $2,000 instead of the normal $1,000 offer.

An independent award of $5,000 is being offered by Albemarle Landscaping for information that leads to an arrest, bringing the total potential reward to $7,000.
