UPDATE: Man arrested in Newport News Rite Aid robbery

UPDATE: Newport News Police arrested 38-year-old Louis Antonio Valentin of the 300 block of Bernard Drive in Newport News on January 13, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Valentin is charged with the January 12 robbery of the Rite-Aid store located at 671 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. Detectives developed Valentin as a suspect during the investigation and obtained warrants for robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was arrested at a local motel, police say. Valentin remains in police custody.

Newport News, Va. – Police need your help to find a suspect who they say robbed a Rite Aid in Newport News on Monday night.

This happened in the 600 block of J. Clyde Morris Blvd.  Employees told officers that the suspect came into the store, went up to the cashier, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. After getting the cash, he left the store.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30’s. He is about 6-feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie, black hat, pants and black coat.

Another suspect may have been driving an older model white Oldsmobile. The vehicle was last seen leaving the area northbound on Woods Road.

Detectives believe this same suspect may have also been involved in the CVS and Wallgreens robberies on Sunday night.
