UPDATE: Police say the 31-year-old man who was hit was trying to get an item that fell from his vehicle. He was hit by a Dodge Challenger. He is in serious condition.
All lanes of traffic are now back open.
No charges have been issued. This case is still under investigation.
Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk Traffic Officers are currently investigating a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a pedestrian, police tell NewsChannel 3.
Shortly before noon today, police were called to the 7600 block of Shore Drive, where a 31-year-old man had been struck by a car.
The man was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what appears to be, at this time, serious injuries, according to police.
The vehicle and driver involved in the crash remained at the scene. Traffic Units are currently investigating this crash.
Both northbound and southbound Shore Drive are currently closed to traffic.
