UPDATE: Man killed in apparent hit-and-run in Newport News now identified

UPDATE: Police have now released the name of the person who was killed in a hit-and-run on Tuesday night. 

They say the victim is 21-year-old Dwyane Kahlil Ewin. Police are still looking for the suspect vehicle in this case. 

They say it was a dark blue or black Chevrolet Sedan or SUV. If you know anything about this, please call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. 

Newport News, Va. – A man is dead after an apparent hit-and-run at the intersection of Briarfield Road and Old Avenue in Newport News Tuesday night.

Police and rescue personnel found the man in a parking lot. He was pronounced dead at 11:38 p.m.

It appears he was struck by a vehicle, police say.

The investigation is still ongoing.
