Portsmouth police need information on an attempted armed burglary

Portsmouth, Va. – Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department are now investigating an attempted armed burglary.

It happened in the 30 block of Emmons Place at approximately 12:30 a.m. Responding officers in the area of George Washington Highway and Greenwood Drive found a vehicle believed to be associated with the event, and detained three suspects. A fourth was missing and believed to be in an apartment nearby. That suspect was not found. No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Portsmouth Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Tipsters never have to give their name or testify in court. If a tipster’s information leads to an arrest they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
