UPDATE: The flood watch in effect for most Hampton Roads has been canceled, warnings for the region remain in place

The watch remains in effect for most of the region, including the following areas, Isle of Wight, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach, Accomack, Northampton Va., Mathews, Newport News, Hampton and York.

Deep tropical moisture in association with area of low pressure over the area will bring periods of moderate to heavy rainfall across the region this morning.

Widespread rainfall amounts of three to six inches with locally higher amounts near 10 inches have already been observed across southeast Virginia. An additional one to two inches of rainfall is possible this morning.
