Two men are were hurt after their high-speed boat flipped and crashed during a weekend boat race at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

The accident happened about 10:34 a.m. Saturday during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout.

47-year-old Joel Begin of Valley Field, Quebec, and 44-year-old Michael Fiore of Bristol, Rhode Island, were traveling at 179mph when wind interference caused them to lose control of their 42 foot Outerlimits Catamaran.

The boat went airborne, and flipped twice before re-entering the water bow first.

Both drivers were rushed to hospitals. Outerlimits Powerboats posted on their Facebook page that Begin has been released from the hospital and Fiore is stable and responsive.
