UPDATE: Arrest made after man killed in vehicle crash in Hampton

UPDATE: Hampton police have charged 49-year-old Lennie Perry for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol 3rd or subsequent offense. Police say the victim was headed south on Magruder Boulevard when the SUV driven by Perry, coming the opposite direction, made a left turn on Hampton Roads Center Parkway causing the crash. 

Police have identified the victim as 53-year-old George Neselrod, who died at the scene of the crash. 

Perry was arrested and charged with one count of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol 3rd or subsequent offense.

 On September 10, 2014, a warrant for one count of Involuntary Manslaughter was obtained and
subsequently served on Mr. Perry on September 12, 2014. He remains in custody with the Hampton Sheriff’s Office


Hampton, Va. – Hampton Police Division is investigating after a man was killed in a vehicle crash late Saturday night.

Just before 11 a.m. police communications received the call of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Magruder Boulevard and Hampton Roads Center Parkway.

Officers arrived on scene and found that a Ford Explorer and a Ford Escort collided at the intersection.

Police say the driver of the Escort was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Hampton Police Division Fatal Crash Team is investigating the accident. The cause of death of the victim is still under investigation. His identity has not been released as of yet.
