Locals gather for “Stand With Ferguson” rally in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – Several locals gathered in Virginia Beach for a peace rally to show support for the recent events in Ferguson, Missouri.

Close to a dozen people gathered at the intersection of Virginia Beach Blvd and Independence Blvd, holding signs in honor of the victim of last week’s shooting in the St. Louis suburb.

An 18-year-old man, Michael Brown, was fatally shot in an altercation with a police officer in Ferguson last week.

So that’s what the four or five people I saw on the sidewalk were doing. I couldn’t read the hastily scrawled signs they were holding, or waving around, or letting flap in the breeze while they stood there and talked amongst themselves….well, I guess they got the attention they were looking for. It’s cute that they think they made a difference.

They are backing the wrong horse in this race. Michael Brown was a hulking thug, watch the video. He had no problem physically pushing around the elderly store owners as he left the store with his stolen cigars. (wonder what he was going to use those for..) Not quite the choirboy image that was being hyped by the family and the press.

If you didnt have such skewed vision, it is clear that the boy who robbed the cigars and the boy who were shot are not the same person. Jump on the bandwagon. Its okay, all conservative middle aged white men look exactly the same too ;)

This is what happens when the whole truth is unknown. How can someone support something they know nothing about. Obama was elected because he knew how to snowball people, and look what has happened. This case has too many unanswered questions and too many instigaters for violience to have people from VA Beach protest. How about demonstrating about restoring calm to the region and let the investigation procedd?
