Woman’s body found on Highway 13 in Bertie County

Bertie Co., N.C. – A body was found lying in the road in Bertie County over the weekend, according to Trooper Copeland of the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The call came in on Sunday morning at 3 a.m. The caller reported someone lying in the roadway in the northbound lane of Highway 13 near the Martin County Line.

Officers responded and found that the victim had been struck by a car and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Victoria Little of Williamston, North Carolina, police say.

The woman was found to be struck “in the middle of nowhere” according to Trooper Copeland, and crews are investigating what happened, as well as whether or not she was ever with someone, was abandoned, or just walking alone.

    Is there any sanctity for life at all anymore??? I’ll bet the final outcome of this woman’s death will be worse than this story leads to.
