Virginia Beach Police to conduct neighborhood safety surveys

Virginia Beach Police will be conducting surveys in selected neighborhoods across the city to evaluate the public’s feelings of safety and strengthen connections between police and citizens.

The surveys will be conducted beginning Wednesday, August 20th by Chief of Police Jim Cervera and members of his command staff, along with precinct police officers and members of the Human Rights Commission.

Police Officers will be conducting these surveys on the following dates and times; August 20 at 5:00 p.m., in the Third Precinct, September 10 at 5:00 p.m., in the First Precinct, September 17 at 5:00 p.m., in the Fourth Precinct and September 24 at 5:00 p.m., in the Second Precinct.

In addition to completing the survey, police officers will be providing information pamphlets pertaining to Crime Prevention tips and other information to help citizens become more involved in their community.
