Hinton Township, Mich. – James Taylor says he’s proud of a party he hosted in a rural part of Mecosta County that drew over 2,000 attendees.

20-year-old Taylor told says Saturday night started as a planned birthday party for a friend as well as a goodbye party for himself before be moves to California, according to WXMI-TV.

The party included two DJs, a fire thrower, go-go dancers and strippers.

Sunday morning his farm house was a mess with bottles, cans and trash scattered everywhere.

Authorities say at least six drug overdoses and one sexual assault happened at the party.

Despite the mess and police having to break-up the party, Taylor said he hasn’t done anything wrong.

“I didn’t force anything down anyone’s throat. I didn’t make anyone stay here until 7 a.m. or 11 a.m. or whenever it is that everyone finally left,” he said.

“I didn’t make this kid pass out on my floor,” Taylor said while pointing to a young man in a white shirt sleeping on the floor.  “People wanted to be here. That was their decision.”

Taylor said that his address was given out at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, which was just enough time for a heads up to people who wanted to attend but not enough time for word to get out to police.

“I guess someone drove all day during the party day from Tampa all the way to here just to come to this party,” said Taylor.

Taylor expects the sheriff’s department to contact him in the next couple of days.  He’s not sure if he will face charges, but says he would take responsibility.
