Hampton police searching for thieves who hit seven unlocked cars

Hampton, Va. – Hampton police are searching for suspects who stole from seven unlock cars in the Fox Hill section of the city early Thursday morning.

At 3:48 a.m., officers responded to the area of East Little Back River Road and Cannonball Run over reports of people attempting to enter parked vehicles.

Police discovered vehicles in the area of the 1st block of Cannonball Run and the 700 block of East Little Back River Road had had items stolen from inside. All of the vehicles had been left unlocked, and electronics, money and other miscellaneous items were stolen.

Hampton Police would like to remind citizens to secure their vehicles and remove items of

value in plain view.

Anyone with information that will assist police is encouraged to contact the Hampton Police Division at 727-6111 or the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court. If a Crime Line call results in an arrest, the caller is eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00.
