UPDATE: Man dies from head-on collision in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, VA (July 26, 2014) The victim in this afternoon’s accident died this evening in the hospital as a result of the injuries he suffered in the head on collision. He has been identified as Danny Clay Tackett, age 60, of Seaford, Virginia. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Suffolk, Va.- Suffolk Police responded to a head on collision in the 5500 block of Godwin Blvd. at the intersection of Everets Rd. Saturday afternoon.

A motorcycle and GMC pick-up crashed into eachother around 1:48 p.m.

The driver of the truck was not injured but the motorcyclist was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died of injuries.

The victim has been identified as 60 year old Danny Clay Tackett of Seaford, Virginia.

He was riding with a group of motorcycles when the accident happened.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Both directions of Godwin Blvd. were closed for about 45 minutes after the accident.
