The London Bridge community of Virginia Beach believes the man being sought for burglarizing at least two businesses may also be responsible for the violent attack of a young woman.

Friends of the 28-year-old say she was beaten over the head with what they believe was a crowbar, although Beach police don't know what was used.

Earlier this week, police released surveillance photos of a man who may be responsible for two burglaries in the area- one in the London Bridge Shopping Plaza and another at the Margarita Grill on Virginia Beach Blvd. Police say both happened just after nine last Sunday morning about 20 minutes apart.

Since the assault at 3 am on Thursday, those surveillance photos have circulated on social media sites identifying the man seen as the woman's attacker.

The victim's employer, Jeff Chance of Garrison's Bar and Grill says her description is similar to the man caught on camera and when looking at the photos closely, the man appears to be holding a small crowbar.

Again, police tell NewsChannel 3 the woman was hit with an "unknown object." Officials also say the burglary suspect is described as a bigger guy, weighing 200 to 240 lbs. while the woman's attacker was described as more petite.

No matter what, the man in the photos is being sought out by police and the public can help find him by calling the Crime Line with any information. That number is 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

In the meantime, the London Bridge neighborhood has set up a fund for the victim to help pay her medical bills. You can drop off donations at Garrison's Bar and Grill on N. Great Neck Road.
