Arlington, Va– Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute cardiologists may have figured out an organic solution to heart disease.

In a recently released study, researchers claim they have reprogrammed heart cells in living animals to regulate erratic heartbeats and even cure diseases.

This regulation is done through a minimally invasive gene transplant that changes specialized heart cells into “biological pacemaker” cells.

The procedure would be especially beneficial to newborns who are diagnosed with congenital heart block.

While the cardiologists are still studying the effects of the transplant in animal subjects, they hope to conduct human tests within the next three years.
