Motorcyclist killed after crashing into tow truck in James City Co.

James City County, Va. – A motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon after crashing into a tow truck.

Police have identified the motorcyclist as Craig Nolan Leggett, 50, of James City County.

The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. in the 8500 block of Richmond Rd.

According to Deputy Chief Stephen Rubino with the James City Co. Police Dept., Leggett was speeding on Richmond Rd.

When he made a left turn at the Anderson’s Corner intersection, he hit a tow truck that was crossing Richmond Road from a BP Gas Station, according to police.

Leggett was pinned underneath the tow truck and died at the scene.

The tow truck driver was not injured.
