Norfolk, Va. -  Kareem Turner walked out of the Virginia Beach jail in March. Prosecutors' murder case against him had fallen apart. He was one of two men charged with robbing and killing an off-duty Norfolk police officer. But several prosecution witnesses were revealed as liars.

Turner said he wanted to reconnect with his family and -- after two years behind bars -- get back to his life.

Norfolk court records filed Friday show he returned to his old job, and his old neighborhood. And now, he is right back in jail, again charged with murder.

Turner asked for a public defender. Detectives say he opened fire before dawn on Wednesday near a house on Jason Street. The bullets killed Dajuan Glover.

But so far, Norfolk Police have not revealed what led them to Turner. His arrest warrants and his bail worksheet are devoid of any details, statements or evidence. Much of the bail sheet is blank.

And the family who cheered his release in March, ran from reporters.

Turner is scheduled for his next hearing in September. In the meantime, he will stay in jail without bail.
