UPDATE: On Tuesday night, police made an arrest in 65-year-old Katherine Ann Fleming's homicide.

84-year-old David Junior Priddy was charged charged with one count of murder and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police say Priddy and Fleming knew each other - both live on Shawen Drive.

Priddy is now behind bars at the Hampton City Jail.

Flemming's daughter says the two have been neighbors for about 30 years.

Last Thursday, 65-year-old Katherine Ann Fleming just got back from her job at the DMV when someone shot and killed her in her Hampton driveway. Her killer is still on the streets.

"I just don't understand it,” says Sam Fleming, Katherine’s husband. “I never thought something like that would happen to her."

Sam Fleming says they were separated and hadn't talked in years, but when he heard the news, he says he rushed to Katherine’s home on Shawen Drive.

He had to see for himself. Shards of glass from her car window still scattered in the grass and gravel driveway and a silver tarp is now taped over the gaping hole.

"She goes to work, she comes home,” Fleming says. “She didn't bother nobody around her. Nobody."

Hampton Police don't believe Katherine’s murder was random. Fleming worries the decades she worked at the local DMV may have something to do with it.

He says she often complained of death threats from angry customers.

"Every day she would come home and tell me about those death threats, and I would say 'quit your damn job and let's just move somewhere,” he recalls. “She wouldn't do it. She loved her job too much."

Fleming says his wife was a sweet and caring mother of two adult daughters, with so much to live for.

"I spent 13 years in this neighborhood,” Fleming says. “Somebody here knows something."
