Folks in Stumpy Point feel fortunate that Hurricane Arthur brought only minimal damage.

Piles of trash and tree limbs lay outside many homes along Bayview Drive but the most visible damage was a gazebo that had been blown over.

Some folks say 100 mph winds whipped during the storm Friday but it was all over quickly. John Butler, Owner of Stumpy Point Trading Post, says even flooding was nothing compared to Hurricane Irene.

"I was up in the community again at my friend's two story house and it came up to the floor boards in his house. It was up about four feet," Butler explained.

He says he and many others were without power until Saturday evening. But, he'll take that along with only a few hours of clean up any day.

"It sure looked bad. The eye came right over us and it still didn't do that much damage. It went quick which is the main thing," says Butler.
