Norfolk, Va. – Larry Pinkard, the second leading wide receiver in Old Dominion University history, has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules.

During his career, Pinkard has had 160 receptions for 2,338 yards and 25 touchdowns.

The announcement was made on Monday. Head Football Coach Bobby Wilder released the following statement:

“We hold our football student-athletes to a very high standard in our program. Although we are disappointed that Larry will no longer be with us we want to thank him for his many contributions to Old Dominion University and our football program. Our number one goal now for Larry is to see him complete his degree,” Wilder said. “We are releasing Larry from his scholarship at ODU immediately so he can continue to pursue his academic career.”
