India Valentine used over-the-counter medicine to keep the elderly woman she was caring for sedated until she died, according to court documents.

Police found Gertha Curry emaciated and malnourished when they found her body inside her home back in September.

After an autopsy, a doctor ruled Curry’s death as homicide, saying she was starved, dehydrated and over-the-counter medicine was found in her system.

They began investigating her death and a few months later, they charged Curry’s caretaker, India Valentine, with murder.

According to court papers, when officers questioned Valentine, she told them she was the only person who fed Curry and gave her medicine.

The papers also show a detective concluded Valentine was using over-the-counter drugs to keep Curry sedated until she died.
