UPDATE: Police find man accused of driving vehicle into Roanoke Sound

UPDATE: It was announced on Facebook that police found the man who allegedly drove his car into the Roanoke Sound. 

Nags Head Police arrested Michael Scott Geier who had missing since the car was driven into the sound on Monday, May 26th. 

He was found at around 3:30 p.m. in an unoccupied house on Lakeside Drive in Nags Head. He has been taken to the Dare County Detention Center and charges are pending. 

Nags Head Police are looking for a Durham man who drove his vehicle into the water on Monday night.

Police say 32-year-old Michael Scott Geier reportedly drove his vehicle into the Roanoke Sound off the 7600 block of South Virginia Dare Trail on the Nags Head-Manteo causeway after hitting gas pumps at a nearby gas station.

Geier was last seen swimming from the scene and has not been located.

According to police, Geier is originally from Madison, Wisconsin. He is described as a 5’11, 200 pound white male with blue eyes, short brown hair and a bald spot on top of his head.
