WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – A Chihuahua found perched on a busy interstate divider in Northern California has been rescued.

A motorcycle officer offered a treat to the frightened Chihuahua, who was then taken to the Contra Costa County Animal Services shelter in Martinez.

It remains unclear how the tiny dog got there. Dozens of people on social media offered to adopt the dog and thanked police for saving her.
