Norfolk, Va. – Officials say they discovered meth making materials inside of a home while responding to a fire inside. The fire chief tells NewsChannel 3's Jackie Morlock the fire was the result of meth being cooked.

Norfolk police have arrested 41-year-old Anton Arnez Godley of the 3200 block of Vimy Ridge Avenue in connection with materials discovered in the home consistent with producing Methamphetamines.

Calls originally came in about the fire at 8:50pm in the 3100 block of Vimy Ridge Avenue. The street was closed for several hours while crews secured the scene.

Officials say when they entered the home to fight a kitchen fire they found materials used to cook meth. Police were called and vice and narcotics detectives responded.

Neighbors say a woman ran to their home for help when the fire started.

A private crew is now cleaning the home. Fire officials say once the crew is done the home will be boarded up and condemned.

No injuries have been reported.

Anton Godley has been charged with Felony Possession of two or more substances with the intent to manufacture Methamphetamines; and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

Godley is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
