Crooks swipe bronze vases from Evergreen Memorial Cemetery

Portsmouth, Va. - Portsmouth police need your help to find out who is swiping bronze vases from the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

There have been three reports involving over a dozen vases that have been stolen, and the replacement value for each bronze vase is valued between $300-350.

The first one happened between April 7th and April 9th. A family member realized the vase had been stolen because she put flowers on her loved one's grave but when she drove by, she realized they were gone. She says five vases were stolen from the markers of her family members.

The second theft happened between April 10th and April 14th. The person who reported the missing vases says when he went back to put flowers on the gravesite, five vases were missing.

Finally the third theft happened between April 6th and April 8th. The report stated that there were also five vases missing in this instance as well.

Police believe there may have been more thefts, but they need you to take action and report them if your family member is buried at the site and you see vases missing.
