UPDATE:  On September 23, 2015, Ladarius Stieff pled guilty to charges of voluntary manslaughter, after the shooting death of James Earl Jones on April 4, 2014 in Virginia Beach. He is also charged with malicious wounding for the non-fatal shooting of another victim and use of a firearm.  His sentencing is scheduled for January 13, 2016.

UPDATE: Virginia Beach police have made an arrest in the shooting that left one person dead and another in critical condition. Ladarius Stieff, 22, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder, two counts of Use of a Firearm and Aggravated Malicious Wounding.

Virginia Beach, Va - It was about 10:30 p.m. last night when a bullet hit a fence, shot through Charles Taylor's home and landed in his kitchen.

"I heard a bunch of gunshots heard something hit my house," Taylor told NewsChannel3. "When I got out and looked to see what was going on. I saw two people laying down."

This is the first of two deadly shootings in the Lake Edward neighborhood.

Taylor says he saw two men lying in the grass on Margate Avenue, another neighbor rushed out to help.

"One guy was holding his stomach and the other guy was just leaned over. They were just saying they've been shot and they needed help. It seemed like it took forever for the police to get here but they came and it was just too late, it was just too late," Amber Brumley, a resident of the neighborhood, said.

It was too late because one of the men died.

Just seven hours later and a few blocks away another shooting took place. Police say one person was killed.

It is the third murder in the Lake Edward neighborhood in this week. Last Saturday police say 29-year old Cyle Ctrahl was killed at his home less than half a mile away.

Many residents that have lived here for 30 plus years no longer feel safe.

"My car and my daughter’s car have been vandalized now I got bullet in my house, it's too close to home,” Taylor says.

Police have not released the name of those killed. They also have not said if they are related.
