Convicted murderer John Ragin maintained his innocence from behind bars Friday, days after a judge sentenced him to life in prison for the 2011 stabbing deaths of his wife Crystal Ragin and three step children.

"Really, I’m more upset with the people accusing me of something I did not do than I am with the person who may have done this because I don't know who did this but I know everybody accusing me of something I did not do,” said Ragin from the Hampton Roads Regional Jail. “I will get out of prison because I was unlawfully convicted of the murders of my family,” said Ragin.

“I'm scared that there's a possibility he could get off on an appeal, because I was almost certain he was going to get the death penalty,” said Shelby Hancock, Crystal Ragin’s sister.  “If killing three children doesn't get you the death penalty then what will?”
