A High Surf Advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. for Currituck County and Dare County, according to the National Weather Service.

High surf conditions are expected through early Wednesday afternoon north of Cape Hatteras.

Breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet will continue to impact the beaches of the Outer Banks north of Cape Hatteras through early
