A Massachusetts mother risked her life to safe her twin toddlers from a moving vehicle.

The woman's motherly instincts kicked in when she thought her children's lives were in danger.

22-year-old Mindy Tran's left knee is crushed and her right leg is dislocated from her hip all because she was trying to save her twin toddlers from a rolling car.

"I had to use myself as a speed bump to slow it down enough for one of my neighbors to get in and completely stop the car."

It happened March 6th, just days after signing a lease at her new Lawrence Apartment.

She backed her Honda into the garage, put it in park and had her 2-year-olds buckled into the back seat when she says got out to lock her front door and saw the car moving!

"I was like, ‘What is going on?’ and I see my daughter sitting there in the backseat and of course my first instinct is I have to push the car back into the driveway."

Afraid the car would go right down her steep driveway and into busy Marsten Street, her motherly instincts kicked in.

"My daughters are my everything, my everything and I don't want to see them in the hospital and I knew at that time it was either mine or theirs."

That's when new neighbors ran to help, jumping into the car stopping it and getting the girls safely out.

Firefighters arrived and stabilized the car with wooden blocks then used an airbag to lift it off her.

Mindy has been in and out of hospitals ever since March 6th. She has another surgery set for Wednesday and there's no end in sight."

Knowing there's a long recovery ahead, Mindy vows she'll walk again, perhaps even run after those kids she sacrificed everything for.

"It was all for my kids. I'm just glad my kids are fine."
