Cradock Middle student reports possible abduction attempt

Portsmouth Police Special Victims Unit detectives are investigating the possible abduction attempt of a 13-year-old girl at Cradock Middle School.

Police say the incident allegedly occurred on March 17th between 7:30 a.m. and 7:50 a.m.

According to detectives, a man driving a pickup truck approached the girl near Prospect Parkway and Afton Parkway as she was walking to school.

The victim told police that the male driver of the truck rolled down his window and offered to give her a ride to school because it was cold. The victim ignored the man and continued to walk to school. The man then drove away.

The man is described as a clean shaven black male in his forties or fifties and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie. He was driving a silver and white pickup truck.
