Virginia Beach, Va. - Was street racing the cause of the accident that killed an 18-year-old girl over the weekend?

That's a question her friends and family want answered.

There’s still nothing from State Police about what caused a deadly accident on I-64 over the weekend—a crash that killed 18-year-old Briana Luckenbill.

They're still looking for witnesses to come forward to help them find the answer.

Online, lots say it was racing, something that her friends and family are also questioning.

The Honda Civic she was riding in was demolished; the passenger side was smashed in and the back was torn off as it sat on I-64 near Armistead Road.

Her family says she was working on the car with members of the group "757illest" before the crash and the group founder says he has a "no racing allowed policy."

“No one in the club races whenever we are doing events. Whatever they do when they`re outside of whatever events, I don`t know what they do at 12:30 at Saturday night.”

Briana's mom talked to NewsChannel 3 yesterday and said her daughter did race with the group on Saturdays , but she doesn't think it caused the deadly crash.

But for now, no one knows.

On Tuesday night, friends gathered for a candlelight vigil to remember the teen in the Kroger parking lot off Holland Road where she would often go to meet up with other car lovers.

Hundreds of car enthusiasts revved their engines in tribute to Briana.

Her 9-year-old brother says he saw her just hours before the accident.

"My son last night said he didn't want to live anymore because he didn't want to be here without Briana and today he's going to see all these people here that loved Briana."
