Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation to host job fairs

Learn how to get a job with an organization “that’s all about fun”: Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation.

Learn about the many different part-time and full-time openings at one of Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation’s job fairs and see what’s available for you.

There’s no need to make a reservation; simply stop by and talk to the recruitment staff. You’ll learn about the City of Virginia Beach’s application process, and get tips for completing and submitting applications that will get noticed by supervisors. You’ll also be able to talk to staff to discover what a typical day on the job entails.

There are two upcoming job fairs:

• 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Bayside Recreation Center, 4500 First Court Road; and
• 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Great Neck Recreation Center, 2521 Shorehaven Drive

Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation operates six large recreation centers and over 265 parks. It also provides out-of-school time programs at 56 locations, and lead a variety of fitness and recreation instruction classes.

Frequent job opportunities include positions for before and after school programs, clerical support, facility management, group fitness class instructors, lifeguards, parks and landscape management support, personal trainers, swim instructors, and more.
