The weather today has been miserable for many us.

“I've never seen the weather so bad here. So cold, snow on the beach, I've never seen that before,” says a Hampton Roads resident.

The strong winds and at times heavy rain didn't make it a good beach day for this Florida native.

“Crazy. Very crazy. Like I said, especially where I'm from, this is a big change.”

“I am so over this weather. I mean everybody is. And it's the wind, it's the cold, it's the rain.”

Candice Wilson could barely take her dog for a walk along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront because of the gusty winds.

“Well, coming to the beach was probably not a great idea. Neighborhoods, you'd at least have a little block on the wind. But here, it's just, it can hold you up, you know. It's that hard,” says Wilson.

NewsChannel 3 spoke to the City's Public Works Department about today's conditions.

We're told other than some ponding on the roads, there has been no major flooding problems around the city. But crews will continue to track the weather through the evening and make adjustments as needed.

“The one good thing about living here is that you know you're going to get a respite. Soon, it's going to hit a 60 or 70 degree mark right out of the clear blue. Awesome. You can live for those days.”
