Portsmouth, Va. – The West Norfolk Bridge is now shut down in both directions due to icy conditions.

At around 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a hit and run accident on the eastbound side of the bridge.

While officers were responding to this accident, another happened at 7:14 p.m. This also happened in the eastbound direction and involved a black SUV. There were minor injuries involved.

Then yet another accident occurred at 7:24 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the bridge. This one was a two vehicle accident.

They expect to have the bridge closed for about two hours.

They are now waiting for sand trucks to clear the bridge.
