The Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Certificate Program recognizes the achievement of law enforcement officers who have completed 500 hours of training with a focus on traffic-related investigations and enforcement. Examples of this training include schools such as Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation, DWI Detection, Standardized Field Sobriety Training, and Drug Enforcement for Patrol Officers. Officer Langley had well over the minimum 500 hours and is only the 222nd participant to complete the program since its inception in 1999, according to officials.

Chief Britt stated, “Officer Langley’s training and experience in the areas of crash investigations and traffic enforcement are a valuable asset to this agency. Traffic-related issues are a major concern, particularly in the crowded summer months, and Officer Langley helps keep the motoring public safe. This recognition from the Academy reflects the professionalism and dedication Officer Langley has always shown while with Kill Devil Hills PD.”

Officer Langley is a seven year veteran of the Kill Devil Hills Police Department.
