82nd Airborne paratrooper killed in training at Ft. Bragg

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Officials said one paratrooper was killed and seven others injured during a training exercise Friday morning at Fort Bragg.

Specific details involving the incident and the names of the victims have not been released.

Of the seven that were injured, two were seriously injured and five were treated for minor injuries and released from Womack Army Medical Center, officials said.

“We offer our heartfelt prayers and condolences to the families of the Paratroopers killed and wounded in this tragic incident,” said Maj. Gen. John W. Nicholson, Jr., Commanding General, 82nd Airborne Division.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
